This page is for first-time users and reflects how GA TIX works today. Keep it simple: review the other user, agree on transaction steps, and use in-app tools to help coordinate and keep a record of your interactions.

Important: GA TIX does not hold escrow and does not process buyer-to-seller ticket payments. Sale payments happen directly between users after ticket transfer.
Reminder: GA TIX does not verify tickets or users, does not participate in transactions, and does not guarantee outcomes. All transactions are conducted at your own risk.

Quick Rules Before You Start

1) Complete your profile

Finish setup at /myProfile before transacting. Registered profiles include the details used during transfer and payment.

2) Review the other user

Check profile trust signals, reviews, and history from My Tickets before you send anything.

3) Keep communication in-platform

Use /messages for coordination to help keep a record of your communication.

4) Follow the action order

Many users choose to complete ticket transfer before payment. Buyers and sellers should agree on the order that works for them.

Typical Transaction Flow

Sale flow (buy/sell)
STEP 1

Match a listing manually on an event page.

STEP 2

Seller may transfer the ticket and confirm the transfer My Tickets.

STEP 3

Buyer may confirm receipt and complete payment, based on the agreed terms with the seller.

Trade flow (ticket-for-ticket)

Trade listings use one-for-one transfer with no payment step. Both sides confirm transfer completion in My Tickets. Trade conversations can start through Offer Trade and continue in /messages.

Tools and Signals Available

GA TIX provides tools and signals to help users make informed decisions, but does not verify users or guarantee transactions.

  • Profile trust signals (reviews, levels, history/risk indicators).
  • Built-in transaction messaging and message email notifications.
  • Ticket image proof support for asks, including required proof on higher-priced asks.
  • Proof status labels on listings: pending, verified, or error.
  • Fraud reporting from active transactions, with suspension and transaction lock capability.
  • Risk checks for duplicate identity/payment signals and masked/risky IP behavior.

What To Do If Something Feels Off

Pause immediately

If the counterparty asks to skip steps, stop and re-check profile + messages before acting.

Use REPORT FRAUD

You may report suspicious activity through My Tickets. GA TIX may review reports but does not guarantee resolution of disputes.

Keep evidence in thread

Post key details in the transaction message thread to help document your interaction.

Platform Limitations

  • No escrow for ticket-money exchange.
  • No in-app buyer-to-seller payment settlement (Venmo is off-platform).
  • No government ID or biometric identity verification at this time.
  • Ticket image check does not block listing availability if verification fails.
  • Ticket image checks do not validate ticket authenticity.
  • Messaging is not realtime sockets; it updates by refresh/polling.
  • Messaging does not currently send email or text notifications for new messages.
